Hey guys, I am really excited because I have some fun news that I found out yesterday, but I can't share it with you until next week. I know, I know, why do I even mention this? Because I am about to burst, that's why!!  Sue from SNL gets it. For the next week, I am Sue and Sue is me.

Thank You Thursday

Hey guys! This week has been a really long and busy one, but in a great way! It was my birthday yesterday, so I celebrated by delivering cupcakes to some special people, launching The Kind Cake Kickstarter Campaign (view below) and ended the night at a Country Music Awards after-party. Yesterday was truly one for the books!

I'm really excited about the Kickstarter and am so thankful to all of you who have been so kind to help!  Successful funding will allow us to enter into the health food grocery market and will help provide space and equipment to produce higher volumes to be shipped across the country. So many of you have stepped up to the plate and I cannot thank you enough!! It has meant the world to me to hear your voices, see your messages and feel the love from you. You all are so amazing and I am forever thankful for you.

Thank You Thursday

Hey guys! I am slammed today but I wanted to share with you a quick story that has completely re-energized me and keeps me focused on why this company exists. Today, I went to the grocery store to quickly pick up an ingredient and was on the receiving end of kindness.

I'm in line at the Starbucks in the grocery store and an older man, whose face I have yet to see at this point, pays for his order (it was a pretty big order). He knew I was behind him and told the barista, "Go ahead and make the young lady's order before mine." I was so grateful because I'm literally running (or biking) from errand to errand. Well, the man turns around and, in my mind, I shout "SANTA?"

Trying to keep it cool like, "no bigs, you just look EXACTLY like Santa Clause," we start chatting. I told him about how he just displayed one of the acts of kindness that comes underneath every one of my cupcakes: Let someone go in front of you in line and thanked him for being generous enough to sacrifice his time for mine. His response? [feeling his long white beard] "Well it is getting closer to my season, you know."  Haha!! Yes, it sure is! Every season is a good season to pay forward and act of kindness, and for that I'm thankful, really thankful!

I read something this a.m. from James: "Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

Huh, well isn't that something? I have never really thought about the word perseverance, especially in the aforementioned context. I have only used it in sentences when conveying a message or thought about being faced with something, working through that something, conquering it and so on.  I never stopped to think each glimpse of enthusiasm accompanying my sentences about perseverance was actually perseverance working on me.

Before realizing this I felt confident in my possession and execution of it, when in reality it was given to me to make me stronger, more patient, coaching me through baby steps while lengthening my faith strides. It works in tandem with the human demonstrating it; it gives others hope that they too can get through adversity; it proves will and strength while giving you a 1 second Snapchat (if you will) of someone's vulnerability. Perseverance works in us and through us and if we think for one minute that it goes unrecognized, it doesn't. It has immeasurable power in spreading like wildfire, creating this positive domino effect for those 'going through it', whatever it is.

Perseverance has a job, it works.....odd hours.....for me and you and for that I am so very thankful.
