Thank You Thursday (The Oprah Magazine Edition)

This week has been one for the books...er magazines. After meeting Gayle King and having her try our cupcakes, I found out The Kind Cake was going to be featured in O Magazine's November issue. Since then it has been a rush to get A LOT of things handled before the magazine was set to hit stands. They wanted their readers to be able to access the cupcakes, so we had a month and a half to figure out how we would ship perishable cupcakes across the nation. Suffice it to say, I have learned so many lessons in the last month and a half.

This week I was headed up to the commercial kitchen and stopped by the grocery store on the way. There it was...Oprah was holding a massive turkey. It was the November issue! I went to a closed checkout lane, set the magazine down on the conveyer belt and started flipping through the pages and I saw it. All of the hard work, the hustle, the happy moments, (the not so happy moments)...it was ALL worth it. I felt overwhelming relief to finally see something that, before, I could only have faith in.

Today, and every day, I appreciate those who give people like me a chance. Sometimes the one chance you give another person is enough to change a life and for that, I'm forever thankful.
